Superdoc diff redlining extension This is a custom JS extension built for Superdoc, which is also a self-hosted, open source, browser-based docx editor. So obviously I didn't create the actual word editor platform, the only thing I did was to add the sidebar at the right, which lets you plug in a
AI and legaltech: Insights and counter insights I think I sound like an old fogey whenever I tell fresh graduates that they should be happy that AI has not replaced them yet because it means that they can still learn the old fashioned way. But it's not really a "be grateful you have a
From Raspberry Pi to AI Workflows: A Personal Journey in Self-Hosting and Legal Tech The following is a condensed version of a chat I had with ChatGPT Sora, which I asked it to turn into a Q&A form. The answers are paraphrased but core answers are mine. Q: Let’s start from the beginning — what sparked your tech journey? It all began
The 3-hour battle cycle In Battlestar Galactica episode "33," the human fleet is being relentlessly pursued by the Cylons. Every 33 minutes without fail, the Cylons appear from nowhere and attack, forcing the exhausted fleet to make faster-than-light (FTL) jumps to escape. This cycle repeats for over five days, leaving the crew
The job of parenting Imagine that you are in your final year of studies and you are interning at a big corporation. Everyone in the company has well defined roles and performs their jobs well. It is a well oiled machine. You are given some small tasks to help out and at the end
Toyama 2025 In summary, this was a good two week trip. We went for the so called Japan preschool exchange (misleading as there is no exchange, it is one way only ie Singapore kids go to Japan and not vice versa). You pay them a fee which includes both the accommodation and
Best CPU/mobo under SGD 600 (Grok DeeperSearch) Key Points * Research suggests the Intel Core i5-13500 with ASRock H610M-ITX/ac is a strong option within SGD 600, offering good AI performance. * It seems likely the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X with a budget AM5 mini-ITX motherboard is also viable, though slightly less powerful for multi-threaded AI tasks. * The evidence
Long weekend (Hari Raya) Had a pretty exhausting long weekend. Saturday - Finally, it was Z's baptism! He was dancing/running around the auditorium alternating with some crying (had to bring him out here and there), but at least, when the time came, he was relatively OK and was more or less

Way-finding has never been my strength, and I feared getting lost. It was also disorienting not having a desk or room to work from. I had to
Is it more worth it to buy a PC or rent a VM? Is it worth it to rent virtual machines (VMs) aka computers in the cloud? I've been running these calculations in my head since I first tried cloud gaming more than 2 years ago on GCP. To do so we have to compare the cost of renting a VM
SLS Nostalgia and Integrity Recently made a trip down memory lane to the famous Sim Lim Square to fix my wife's old laptop (so I can take over it, haha). It's really different from its heyday when it was bustling with people, before the days of online shopping. As Dave

Sentosa March 2025 We went for an impromptu staycation in Sentosa. There was a school excursion followed by a school closure the next day, and it was also our tingkat break day. Hence it was a good time. It's been quite a busy past two weeks with Z falling ill, so
HK 2025: 23/3 to 1/3 From 23rd February to 1st March we went on a trip to Hong Kong. This trip was a milestone in many ways. It was the furthest that we have gone with our two young kids and also the first trip since we decided not to hire a domestic helper anymore.
